Does anyone remember animated GIFs?

You know, those little blinking, spinning, flaming decorations that everyone with a personal website in the ’90s plastered all over the fucking place? God, what a time to be alive.

Well, I’ve got news for you: ANIMATED GIFS ARE BACK, BABY!

Okay, maybe not. But I still love those stupid little frame-by-frame miracles, so I decided to start collecting them. Like Pokémon.

I’m scouring the old web for GIFs that really speak to me and dumping them here for you. See one you like? Download it. Use it. Put it on your own site. Use it for good. Use it for evil.

Just don’t let the little bastards disappear.

Someone cuts off a unicorn’s horn, the world falls into eternal darkness, and naturally the best visual aid I could find was... a fucking unicorn. Whatever. I tried. RIP: Tim Curry 😢

It's a surprisingly badass little wall torch. Completely unnecessary. Obviously essential.

I mean, it's fucking Hobbes. Calvin & Hobbes is my all-time favorite comic strip, and honestly one of my favorite things ever made. I could probably fill this entire stupid website with Calvin & Hobbes GIFs and be completely fine with that.

Moments later, after finding the Hobbes GIF, I managed to located the matching one of Calvin as well. This is the sort of stuff I live for in my spare time, people, so deal!

Somewhere on a random archived GeoCities page lives the story of Sam the Dog, an Airedale Terrier born on October 17, 1991, who died on June 30, 2005. Was Sam real? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, his little corner of the old web is still out there.
Sam The Dog Sam the Dog was an Airedale Terrier who lived from 1991 to 2005—or so a random archived GeoCities page claims. Was Sam real? Maybe. Maybe not. In any event, this is his GIF.
I don’t know whether it’s the oddly timed chomping or the gloriously janky animation, but I absolutely fucking love this thing. I found it lurking on an old GeoCities site made by a dude named Mike Strick. Good shit.

Know what one of these actually is? If I have something mislabeled, if you know where a GIF came from, email me and let me know.
