Artifacts from growing up before everything sucked.
Welcome to The Digital Attic!
(obligatory pause for fanfare)
Yes, the Digital Attic: a place for digging through the books, toys, old-ass internet content, forgotten fads, weird cultural artifacts, and assorted crap that made growing up feel a whole lot more interesting than the dreary dystopian hellscape we somehow wandered into. (I blame CERN.)
This isn’t meant to be an exhaustive history of anything. These are just little looks back at the shit I remember: what it was, why it mattered, what made it great, and whatever the hell happened to it.
So come on in. Dig through some boxes. Have a peruse.
Admission is free.
Your soul, however, is non-refundable.
- The GIF Drawer — Animated relics from a time when every website needed at least twelve of them.
- Art Bell & Coast to Coast AM — Late-night radio full of ghosts, UFOs, conspiracies, strange callers and one unforgettable voice that made the world feel a little more mysterious.
- AD&D 1-on-1: Dragonsword of Lankhmar — Two books, two players, one magical sword, and a whole bunch of assholes trying to kill you before you found it.
Spot something wrong? Some of this stuff is old enough to have developed back problems. If you notice a glaring mistake, a dead link, or something that has changed since I wrote about it, email me and let me know.
