Webrings fucking rock. They were one of the best parts of the old web: a bunch of random, people-run sites linking to one another because somebody thought they were badass enough to belong together.

So, obviously, being the retro-obsessed nerd I am, I had to make my own.

Welcome to ThulNet.

(Insert fanfare here.)

What The Hell Is A Webring?

Well, I'm glad you asked! Basically, once I — the all-seeing nerd — accept your submitted site, it becomes part of a circular list of websites.

Visitors can jump to the previous site, the next site, or a random site in the ring. Eventually, if they keep going, they'll loop right back around to where they started.

That's it. Completely unnecessary old-web technology.

Before You Apply

Already Part of ThulNet?

If your site is already registered and you need to change the URL, name, description, contact information, or you just want the damn thing removed from Thulnet, email me. If possible, contact me from the same email address you used when you registered so I can verify it's actually your site.

Your email is for ThulNet related contact and moderation. It is not displayed in the public directory.

What Happens Next?

Your application gets crumpled up and thrown into a very large file cabinet, where it sits until I decide to take a look at the site myself. If you're accepted, I'll contact you with your member number and the small chunk of HTML you'll need to add to your site for the Previous / Random / Next links. Once you add the code, you'll officially be in!

There are no member accounts to remember and no passwords to lose. If you ever need something changed later, just contact me. And don't hold your breath for some super-cool management portal. I ain't about that life (lol).
